Authors Chick Lit Blog Hop 2012

As many readers know I’ve spent the last decade of my life not only writing but working in entertainment. When I first arrived in Los Angeles I worked in the mail room, pushing the mail cart at one of the biggest agencies in town. I then worked as an assistant to an agent and finally was promoted to agent. While agenting I learned so much about the entertainment industry. At the agency I not only learned how films actually got made but the commerce behind making them.

I also learned about story. I read thousands of scripts, books, and tv pilots. Good story telling is good story telling. My experiences were the foundation for my first two books

In my first "real job" I was the first full time employee of a website design company. I went thru every position of the company before I decided it was time to move on. The company started as a company that truly wanted to help the customers, then it became all about the money and screw the customers. Once I noticed how bad they were really getting, I found another job and turned my notice in.
Thanks for participating in the hop!

I learned at a job when I was in my early twenties not to appologize too much I was constantly saying sorry. I'm a southern Baptist preachers kid you appologize A LOT. LOL but as I learned from my friend we were in a male dominated office and stopped!

    Thanks for doing the hop!

As a flight attendant for American I learned to handle emergencies and people, but mostly I learned how diverse a ghetto of women could be. (Yes there are plenty of men, but a majority of women.)

Thanks for taking part in this hop!

I learned not to judge people by what they look like – I work with people who take the bus and people who drive Mercedes… you never know!

Thanks for the blog hop!! As a fellow writer I've learned a lot through my betas and editor. It's really amazing what you can learn when you step back from the work you've been so close to, day in and day out. Listening to other perspectives and insight about the craft and your work is really enlightening and helpful! Learn something new at nearly every page!

I learned that if people can sense that they can walk all over you, they will. That's why you have to be strong and firm but not rude.
